ClearVoteLA
07.14.11

Born out of frustration and a desire to understand and participate in California’s 2010 November 2nd election, Derek Rushforth and I decided to create ClearVoteLA. With only a few weeks before the election we put together a site in a few days that had straight forward and non-biased information about the candidates for Governor and the propositions. With over 300 views before the election, we were happy the site reached as many people as it did. With the renewed excitement of having more time and the importance of the 2012 Presidential election, we are thrilled to start working on ClearVoteLA part two! With deciding to focus on the 2012 election, we plan on creating stages of ClearVoteLA that intend on reaching and informing a larger audience.
Our goal is to create a more in-depth site that still shares non-biased information in a simple and fun to read manner. With the help of Derek and additional help of David Arias; I am thrilled to kick start this project again and really make it something great! Look forward to sharing some updates on the project in the coming future!
Three Hundred Sixty Five Color Project
07.13.11

A few months ago I started a photo project that was based off taking a photo of a specific color everyday. I did this for a few months and then decided that I wanted to refresh the project. I have done a year long photo project before where my focus was simply on creating everyday. I really enjoyed this project and looking back it has become more of a visual diary of my life for that year. I decided that I wanted to do this again but wanted to add a twist to it. I wanted to make it focused on a color a day. I realized quickly that I was searching out the color just to take a quick photo and as a result I don’t feel like I was really pushing my creativity but doing a task I felt I had to get done. This is obviously the opposite of my goal with any creative project. I always want to push myself to constantly be creating so sticking with the idea of a color a day, I’ve decided to create a little home for the project at http://www.365colorproject.com, which is currently not live yet, and create a inspiration blog!
Monday through Sunday inspiration based on the days corresponding color! This includes photos I’ve taken, photos I find, art I find, movie reviews, fashion reviews, etc! I’m sure as I go and as it grows I will find new and fun ways to explore each day’s color. Can’t wait to jump into this new project. For now you can checkout the birth of the project through the images I’ve taken and put up on flickr here.
New Site Launched!
07.13.11

It’s been a long time coming! I had been struggling with figuring out how to represent myself on the interwebs and I’ve always felt like I’ve rushed my personal sites to “just get something up”. I wanted to start down the right path this time with creating something that was really me and something that I could be proud of. Launching this site is the first step heading in that direction. There’s still a lot of progress to be made but I’m thrilled to have created a site that I like and that has a lot of room to expand and become stronger!
